Chilean police say a young man distraught over a breakup with his girlfriend hanged himself while she watched over a web camera.
Deputy Inspector Carlos Court says 26-year-old Simon Venegas was chatting with his former girlfriend when he pointed his camera at a tree in a courtyard of his house.
Court says Venegas hung a rope over a branch and told his ex, "Watch what I'm going to do" and "I love you, take care", before hanging himself.
The horrified 23-year-old woman called Venegas' friends to stop him, but Court says they arrived too late. The couple broke up a year ago.
The suicide occurred on Friday in San Felipe, about 90km southeast of the capital of Santiago. Police announced it on Sunday.

Concept Cars: A Love-Hate Relationship.
The new BMW Vision EfficientDynamics, A hybrid drive system and a revolutionary design that you'll probably only ever see on Youtube.
I love new...new cars, new clothes, new technology, and it's the reason why I have a love-hate relationship with concept cars. Why the love? Well, other than the obvious new factor, concept cars give a glimpse into the future, a new idea of what can be and the next evolution of the automobile. They can spark the imagination of whats to come and how we'll travel, but 98.99993 percent of the time these radical new cars never see the light of day. Sure, one might argue that these cars are a jumping off point for implementing new features in the current generation of car, but fuck that! Give me new! Give me exciting!
The American tax payer spent $25 billion dollars bailing out GM, Ford, and Chrysler...for what? No innovation, no next step; just more of the same cheap cars that get out sold all over the world. Oh, and did I mention they went bankrupt anyway? That $25 billion could have been loaned to car companies that are trying to do something new and that are trying to revolutionize the industry. The first company that comes to mind is Tesla Motors: they make high performance, all electric vehicles that can not only get us where we need to go cheaper (it cost roughly 1 cent per mile to drive the current Tesla Roadster), but will also cut down on emissions, helping to save our environment. Ah, but I digress. My point is if concept cars were people, she'd be a stripper you take home from the filthiest club ever just to find out she just wants to cuddle. Please don't tease us like that any more. Not cool car companies, not cool!
The all electric Tesla Roadster.

on the front lines of health care reform.
Despite being written off as a mock newscast, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart offers an alternative, real insight on the bullshit that runs this country. This is desperately needed as the mainstream media consistently sugarcoats issues at hand and, intentionally or unintentionally, subverts the truth by allowing rumors and hear-say to gain credibility. Recently, Jon Stewart set up an interview with Betsy McCaughey, the woman credited with starting the whole "death panel" idea and who opposes the entire Health Care Reform initiative based on, well, a couple of sentences out of legislation that contains 1,018 pages.
The blatant disregard for what he was saying, along with the fact that she was appealing to an audience that wasn't siding with her whatsoever, clearly demostrates how the shit was hitting the fan for her, and no one was buying it. I almost feel bad. It scares me when people like this, and idiotic ideas that form groups like the Birthers gain traction, and potentially cloud the path towards beneficial reform that can get this country somewhat back on it's feet.
Make sure you get your information right before you make any kind of decision concerning this legislation. There are so many people who believe the myths and the lies that swirl over this issue like a bad storm, and it's unhealthy and downright disconcerting knowing that they have a such a large impact on the first, real reform that the people have worked hard for it.
Oh, and Republicans are idiots. Just sayin'.
